Hi Rossandra,
I do not think that I know you, but my sister Rhona and I spent many happy days at the Rokana (Nkana)Swim club and the photo brought back good teenage memories!
Our family like yours also came from SA – I think I was about 6 when we came and went to the local schools (Frederick Knapp and then Kitwe High. My parents and sister returned to SA, while I took up nursing in Salisbury, S. Rhodesia.
I have lived in the US since marrying in 1965 and lived in Yorba Linda, for the past 30 years – my sister and I are now both widows after long and happy marriages and we do love to remember our dysfunctional, yet happy childhood days in Nkana.
Blessings,
Wow! What a lovely surprise. You live “up the freeway” from me. I remember the Boshoff name. How wonderful to have a sister with whom you can recall the old days, I wish I had a family member to do so. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Please visit again. AND if you’re ever in Laguna Beach, perhaps we could meet. Leave me a message.
